Visual artist and writer.

My work explores the world of social "outcasts" with a surreal, stream of consciousness quality. It's fueled by suburban memory and a fascination with online oddities: from marketplace ads to poetic buffet reviews on TripAdvisor. My aim is to become a connoisseur of digital trash.

Series of flyers, digital collage, print on paper, sticker transfer on mirror
2025

A series of flyers inspired by ads for Warsaw-based Airbnbs and temporary rentals, as well as typical flipper slogans. All of these ads portray the splendor and elegance of each apartment, with photos resembling glossy furniture commercials straight out of a tacky furniture shop. The new, post-flipper interior design style, along with listings written by ChatGPT  is yet another force attempting to strip future tenants of their individuality.

The bulletin board in the hallway remains an open space. Anyone can post whatever they want there: from requests to sell beer, to warnings about fake news, to community notices like mental health support or 24/7 handyman services. The bulletin board is still a space for tenant socialization.

The poem on the mirror is written by a longtime resident Jadwiga “Iga” Ruzikowska. She was an artist, poet, and longtime deputy director of the Youth Palace. She passed away in 2021. Residents remember her as a warm, kind, and caring person - devoted both to people and to the neighborhood cats.

🦷🪥 What if I told you that 9 out of 10 dentists recommend drinking fluoride?

Now, you might be wondering: Why isn’t treating bleeding gums as quick as a lickety-split fix?

You don’t floss your teeth? Me neither.

These questions keep coming up, right?

Every day, I find myself under pressure—pressured to scrutinize my appearance. Whether it’s the

distorted reflections in fitting room mirrors, the asymmetry of my eyes, or the jagged, infected

teeth staring back at me.

So, what can we do about this?

It starts with you: Prevent decay everyday. 🦷

Gentrification? An invasion of tech bros? Those trends haven’t yet reached the summit of Niedźwiednik, but perhaps it’s only a matter of time. Soon the area might see food-sharing concepts and yoga classes springing up at the local preschool.

Instead, Niedźwiednik has welcomed a healer, spiritual guide, and self-help guru. She invites tired pilgrims to explore the streams of thought flowing from deep within the subconscious of the mystical bear.

With a focus on delivering top notch spa services—and enhancing the spiritual experience of Niedźwiednik residents—the guru turned to local discussion forums, neighborhood groups, Google reviews, message boards, and street signs for inspiration. From these sources, she wrote the manifestations and affirmations displayed on banners and storefront lightboxes, which now adorn the shrine of fishy mindfulness.

Forget about others. Don’t worry about waiting for bus 136, which is constantly late; focus on yourself.
Listen to the mentor’s words: manifest, affirm, visualize, realize goals, conquer peaks.

And no! You are 𝘕𝘖𝘛 packed in like a can of sardines.
The power of the bear is in you.

Thinking about how small-town restaurant culture and social gatherings, illustrating food and historical role-playing events connect people amid overconsumption. It draws parallels with the former GDR, showcasing the dual perceptions of America as both an enemy and an ideal. The exploration of American-themed pubs in Saxony reveals the nostalgic yet problematic glamorization of the Confederate past and the Wild West. By comparing these with American dining franchises, the project highlights how restaurants symbolize both community and social disproportion. Through layered collages, the installation uncovers the complex interaction of food, culture, and community across different socio-political landscapes.

Restaurants seem like fun, friendly spots, but in the US, they can be true battlegrounds. People fight over food, beat each other with crab legs, and get into drunken brawls during their children's birthday parties. This absolutely contrasts with the idea of social gatherings and we become lost in a labyrinth of unconscious streams of thoughts driven by stereotypes we've lived in since childhood.

The concept of "all-you-can-eat" buffets, neighborhood bulletin boards, and Marktplatz or FestPlatz stalls symbolizes an ideal world where everyone gets what they want. Buffets try to represent openness and equality, catering simple food to all desires. It's something which is accessible for all - quick and cheap family friendly meals. But this utopian vision clashes with the harsh realities of small town inequality, lack of funds or simply being in a place where going out for a meal has become a luxury

In the suburbs, where options are limited to buffets, butter sculpting contests, and dairy cattle beauty pageants, people find connection over shared meals at restaurants or entertainment spots like arcades.

Amidst a culture of excess and disposable consumption, food becomes the social glue that binds communities, all observed by the watchful eyes of a surveillance society.

A series of 3 collages of found footage, restaurant commercials, photos from buffet goers from TripAdvisor and scans from my childhood birthday parties.

Inspired by online affirmations and trendy t-shirt slogans, I aimed to create mirrors filled with constant positivity. By mixing beauty ideals, coaching culture snapshots, and messages of self-love in the photomosaics, each mirror now serves as a source of empowerment, reflecting not only my image but also the support I get from loved ones.

Followed by a performance reading of food-related poems from 2021-2024 and a screening of my favorite American TV commercials from the late '90s.

Texts from female poets of bygone eras (Sor Juane Inés de la Cruz, Gwerful Mechain and Tullia D'aragonia) are displayed on a garden fence with LED panels for typical office buildings, merging love poems with product promotions on the fence.

I aspire to cultivate an atmosphere that transforms the act of reading pamphlets and supermarket deal catalogues in the park that become a modern Shrine of Rumination.

Taking a children's rhyme seriously means using a strong, charismatic voice, even if the words don't seem serious. It's tough to get past that masculine tone, and it's tiring. Yet, in the end, a harmonious moment emerges, open to various interpretations: surrender, strength, honor. As time goes on, it's good to fade out this strong statement. I hope I got through to some people, even if just a few. Those small steps really matter. The strong voice makes the audience look for someone leading, even if they're not there.

Being a pirate is an attitude, a mentality. They don't accept norms. They don't wait for someone to give them permission. To be a pirate is to be fearless. They accept the world as a challenge. They think of better ideas, give them new meanings and put them into practice. Piracy is an action sport. The girls support each other; they share ideas, work collectively, yet maintain their individuality and completely separate artistic practice. The space is decorated as a haven where the viewer can figure out for themselves what they want to do in. In the background of the individual works, a large flag is displayed, which is the result of the collective artistic action. The artists wanted to manifest that it is possible to create a community out of "nothing". Blazers from thrift shops, wooden planks from the street and collected stones from past travels. In this way, the creators give the space a new undefined function, which can be used for various purposes, but most importantly for being in it. The venue is transformed into a friendly space for everyone. Another element created with teamwork, is a website with a powerful database where the viewer can access various treasures - they give them a chance for a second life for exhibits that were previously unused.

Drawing on the entangled herstory of pirate women (mainly referring to Jeanne De Clisson and the pre-execution letter of Rachel Wall ) and the British subcultures of the 1980/90's; I plucked found quotes by women of the sea and interweaved them with lyrics of songs created 250 years later (British New Wave/BritPop).

Copacabana
novel, 94 pages
Polish and English version
2019-2020

Summer vacation that's just like a still from an old postcard found in your aunt's attic. Your favourite love song from the radio finally becomes reality. The journey begins with a suitcase filled with hope. Searching for that picturesque happy end - perhaps the sun shines brighter over the horizon. Holding that lucky ticket bought at a budget travel agent, our once in a lifetime luxurious dream has become a wallet-friendly bargain. The rhythm of annoyingly squeaky flip flops is accompanied by an image of cheap suburbian fashion and is surrounded with the strong scent of deodorant. Heading towards happiness while sipping that sweet and tender Pina Colada, but in reality it's draft beer with artificial fruit syrup.

The plot takes us through airports, crowded hostels, forgotten dive bars and sidewalk benches. The selected fragments transform into a travel journal portraying common people. Sometimes a native resident, sometimes a tourist and sometimes somebody completely random. Each one of them has a strong statement about life.

Somewhere on the beach of an Arcadia-like Rio - everyone is at the Copacabana. A Feminist, the tipsy father with two children, a lonely ill tempered dame, Swedish tourists, vegetarians, a cheated on husband and a psychology student who hits up on ladies reading Frued. Bold personalities float together and dissociate during the sunset.
